The 29th edition of China Fisheries & Seafood Expo, an exhibition dedicated to fisheries, seafood and technology, will open in Qingdao on 28 October. In the tenth anniversary year of Russia's participation in the exhibition, the Russian fisheries industry will present the largest showcase in the history of the Russian pavilion.
An anniversary year – a record showcase
More than 60 companies will occupy an area of over 1,600 m². The Russian pavilion will bring together businesses from across the fisheries sector: from fishing companies and manufacturers of finished products to feed suppliers, providers of aquaculture technology solutions, logistics operators, shipbuilders and ship repair companies.
This breadth of representation will allow international partners to explore not only Russian fish products but also solutions for developing their own production and the modern infrastructure that supports fish and seafood deliveries from Russia.
As always, fish and seafood from across the country will form the core of the Russian pavilion: halibut, flounder, salmon, Atka mackerel, herring, cod, saffron cod, squid, shrimp, Spisula clams, scallops, sea cucumber and many other products caught by Russian fleets. The displays will give pride of place to favourites on the Chinese market – pollock and crab.

Flavours of the world made with Russian fish
The Russian Fish House restaurant, a hallmark of the Russian pavilion, will once again serve guests delicious dishes made with products from exhibitors: NWFC, RFC, "Sigma Marine Technology", "Okeanrybflot" and the Pollock Catchers Association. Alongside familiar dishes, visitors will be able to try baked sablefish, crab and shrimp dumplings with cream and birch sap sauce as well as new pollock creations, which we will reveal soon.
Visitors to the Russian pavilion can look forward to a culinary show by the PCA focusing on pollock roe as an ingredient for new products. Two Chinese chefs will simultaneously demonstrate how Russian pollock roe can be used in traditional and modern Chinese dishes and fusion recipes.
Alongside the product tastings, RFC will hold a presentation at its stand on pollock roe from its own catch.
In the meeting area, managers from the PCA and representatives of the largest Russian fishing companies within the Association will discuss supply opportunities with international partners, the use of pollock roe in sauces, snacks, semi-finished products and ready-to-eat foods as well as prospects for increasing demand on the Chinese market.
The gastronomic program at the Russian pavilion will extend beyond the restaurant and pollock roe tastings. "Antey" has prepared its own tasting program for event visitors while guests will also be able to discover new crab products from the ranges of "Russian Crab" Group and NWFC.
In addition, the Federal Agency for Fisheries' sail training ship is expected to arrive at the Port of Qingdao ahead of the exhibition – the frigate "Pallada", whose crew will take part in cultural events during China Fisheries & Seafood Expo.
Ten years ago, the participation of Russian companies in China Fisheries & Seafood Expo became part of a sustained effort to develop business ties in the Chinese market. Today this work continues through the largest national pavilion and extends far beyond the exhibition venue.
